Will there be permanent damage to my lungs or other organs if I’m infected with the COVID-19 virus?

Doctors in Hong Kong have found that some patients who fully recovered from the coronavirus can be left with substantial lung capacity weakening, with some patients experiencing a drop of 20-30%. However, doctors commented that patients can pursue cardiovascular exercises such as swimming to improve their lung capacity over time.

At this point, it is still too early to conclusively state the long-term effects of the coronavirus on lung capacity. Other organs that can be impacted are the stomach, liver, and the kidneys.
